The convicted killers who were caught in Hornell yesterday may have had some help from prison guards escaping from an Arkansas prison. A spokeswoman for the Correction Department says officials are still investigating how Calvin Adams and Jeffrey Grinder escaped from the Cummins Unit Prison Friday wearing guard uniforms. After a 20-mile car chase, police caught the convicts in a Hornell neighborhood yesterday. Adams, the driver, was charged with Reckless Endangerment. The men will be assigned lawyers tomorrow, when extradition negotiations are expected to begin. Five corrections officers have been placed on unpaid leave during the investigation.
