CORNING--Hundereds of glass artists and collectors from around the world will be in the Crystal City this week.

   Corning is the chosen home for the 29th annual Glass Art Society Conference.  This will be the 6th annual conference for the Glass Art Society, known as GAS for short.  The whole city is getting involved, there will be events, demonstrations, and of course, plenty of glass for sale.     

   The conference is a big deal in the glass world, it brings together more than 1,500 glass artists from around the world.  The conference also doubles as an industry trade show.  Local artists work is on display in many Market Street shop windows, to intice glass lover to shop local.    

    This is the sixth time Corning has played host to the conference.  The Glass Art Society says most glass artists and enthusiasts will be comming to town tomorrow.  The conference officially begins Friday night with a kick-off party in the Gaffer District.
