Another two hundred workers will lose their jobs.
A local manufacturing plant will shut its doors.
Wednesday, officials announced the Emerson Power Transmission Plant in Ithaca is closing.
At least 228 employees will be layed off over the next 12 to 14 months.
The plant will be closed by next September.
An Emerson spokesman issued a statement saying the decision to close was based on the economy, not employee performance.
Emerson will shift operations to another North American plant.
