ITHACA -- A multi-million dollar grant is helping Ithaca College renovate its performing arts center.
Gov. David Paterson announced the state awarded the school with nearly $2.3 million.
The money will go towards the Dillingham Center, which is home to the department of theatre arts.
Included in the renovations are two new rehearsal studios, "smart" classrooms, design studios, dressing rooms, and a costume shop.
“I think that also the theater provides a very valuable service to the community at large.  We have patrons who've been subscribers to theater for 17-20 years. They really look at, this as a valuable place for them and they feel connected to it because of the productions that we put on,” said audience development manager Susan Monagan.
The total cost of the renovations is $10-million and is expected to be finished before school starts in two weeks.
