ITHACA -- A group of Cornell University architecture students is putting the finishing touches on a solar house to compete in an international contest.
The students spent ten weeks building the 800 square-foot home at Cornell's High Voltage Laboratory.
It'll be unveiled at the New York State Fair in a few weeks. Then, it's on to Washington, DC and a solar house competition against 20 other universities.
“I think with the fad that green technology has taken -- the buzz words of sustainability and green design, and solar power. I think people are really looking at this as something that's attractive, and I think as more people adopt it, you'll see it on more and more houses,” said Cornell architecture student Chris Werner.
This will be the third time Cornell competes in the international contest.
