CHEMUNG COUNTY-- With flu season just around the corner, Chemung County is looking to recruit more volunteers for its Medical Reserve Corps.
The Corps is run through the Chemung Valley Health Network and the county's Emergency Preparedness Committee.  They're looking for volunteers, medical professionals in the community, who would be able to help out in a medical emergency, namely an H1N1 outbreak.
Chemung County Spokeswoman Karen Miner says there are already about 100 people in the Medical Reserve Corps, but they're looking for more.  She says it's not hard to volunteer, but you do need to have proper medical credentials.
H1N1 volunteers aren't uniqute to Chemung County- the state health dept. is asking for help all over New York.  Miner says Chemung County volunteers will likely be needed to help give flu shots in schools.
