A woman is lucky to be alive Tuesday after a one-car accident in Beaver Dams.
Police say the woman was driving southbound on Route 414 when she swerved trying to avoid an animal in the road.
She lost control of her vehicle, which then left the road and flipped over, trapping her inside for about 20 minutes.
She suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
A New York State Police officer at the scene said it could have been far worse if the woman had not been wearing her seat belt, which probably saved her life.
Later on Tuesday, traffic was backed up on the miracle mile, this time a four car accident.
Police say a car drove off Route 14 and hit another car that was pulling out of the bowling alley parking lot head-on. Then another car on Route 14 crashed into the accident.
Meanwhile, a parked car that was on display nearby was hit and damaged by the impact.
Police say the people involved had minor neck injuried and were taken to Arnot Ogden Medical Center to be checked out.
