     Chemung County Legislators convened for a special meeting Monday night to honor former Chairman and a special friend, John Flory.
     Flory served the Village of Wellsburg, as a Trustee for six years back in the 1960s.
     He served on the County Legislature for 35 years and as chairman for 24 years, before retiring in 2002.
     His wife of 61 years says her husband loved his community and did the best he could for the citizens of Chemung County.
     “It meant very much to the whole family. You feel that you wish he could have been here,” said Flory’s wife, Pat. “He never thought everyone thought he was that good, but he did the best he could on everything and I am very proud of him.”
     John Flory died September 10th.
     He was 85 years old.
