Tanker Truck Rollover on I-86
A truck driver sustains serious injuries after his tanker rolls over, spilling thousands of gallons of asphalt sealer onto the highway, himself and his dog.
BATH (WENY) -- The driver of a tanker truck sustained serious injuries in an accident on I-86 near Bath early Monday morning.
Bath fire officials arrived on scene to the tanker ruptured in multiple spots and thousands of gallons of asphalt sealer spilled onto the highway.
The driver was ejected from the seat and found covered in the sealer, moaning for help. He was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he was in intensive care. His condition is unknown at this time.
Bath fire officials say the driver's dog was also found covered in asphalt sealer on scene.
The dog is expected to be OK after being cleaned up and sent to the Animal Hospital in Hornell.
The cause of the rollover is unknown at this time.
