Fatal Fire In Blossburg

BLOSSBURG, Pa. (WENY) The Blossburg community is remembering a young girl who was killed in an early morning fire on Sunday.

The fire started just before 7 o'clock at 142 Main Street in Blossburg.

The flames quickly spread to several other homes on Main Street, displacing four families.

Neighbors in the homes next to 142 Main Street escaped unharmed but a young girl did not survive the raging flames.

The Tioga County coroner's office confirms that Gia Carlone,11,  received fatal injuries after being trapped in the home.

Nearly 250 community members gathered at the Island Park in Blossburg on Sunday to remember the young girl.

The Blossburg Volunteer Fire department was assisted by 12 other fire departments.
