Bradford County Jail Study
TOWANDA, PA (WENY) -- Bradford County Commissioners plan to hire a consultant to study ways to battle overcrowding at the county jail.
The county plans to spend 20-thousand dollars to hire Rod Miller of Gettysburg to study Bradford County's criminal justice system. In the past, Commissioners had been considering converting the jail's gym to a housing unit to make room for more inmates. However, Commissioner Doug McLinko says any decision is on hold until the results of the study are made available.
The County Commissioners are expected to take a formal vote to hire Miller on September 20th. The study could take four to five months to complete.
