Burned Dog’s Remains Under Investigation

Burned Dog Remains BradCo
WYSOX, PA (WENY) -- The Bradford County Humane Society is investigating a case of burned dog remains found on a Susquehanna riverbank.
An officer responded to a 911 call about the burned carcass at the Wysox boat launch last Wednesday. Images of the dog's body are so graphic, we cannot show them.
Humane Society Officer Lara Hawbaker sent the remains and other evidence from the scene to a forensics lab, to try and determine if the dog was burned alive, or already dead when someone set fire to it. If it's determined the burning was a malicious act, the person responsible faces criminal charges.
"What kind of person could actually do something like this, to any kind of animal? There's a lot out there people need to know that's going on in your own backyard, we just need to be more vigilant," said Officer Hawbaker.
Officer Hawbaker is followin up on leads, and hoping someone steps forward. Anyone with information about the burned dog should contact her at (570) 888-4763. Tips can be kept confidential.
