Caroline Town Board To Ban Fracking
Vote Set For Tuesday Night
CAROLINE, NY (WENY)---All that stands between a ban on hydrofracking in the town of Caroline is a vote by the town council.
That vote is scheduled to take place Tuesday night at 7 at the Caroline town hall. The town supervisor, Don Barber, has told our media partner, the Star-Gazette, he plans to vote in favor of the ban.
Two other council members plan on voting in favor of the ban with one council member opposing the ban. Attempts to contact the final council member were unsuccessful. If passed, the ban would block all forms of gas drilling--not just hydrofracking.
The council meeting will be preceded by a public hearing for the environmental impact statement drawn up for the ban.
