Chemung (WENY) - New details in a fatal fire on McDowell Road in the town of Chemung. Investigators say it was a murder-suicide. The Chemung County Sheriff says a man shot his estranged girlfriend, set the house on fire, and killed himself. The bodies of 47-year-old Mary Vinson and 56-year-old Dennis Perry were found inside the burned home at 2131 McDowell Road in Chemung. The exact cause of death for both victims under investigation, waiting for autopsy results. Sheriff Moss says investigators found a gun and other crucial evidence at the scene. Investigators were still on scene and in the surrounding area today, with dogs, looking for more evidence. One neighbor tells us she would pick berries at the couple's farm, and they seemed like a nice couple.
