Victim in Corning House Explosion Improves
CORNING (WENY)--- One of the men seriously injured in the blast is improving and he's now listed in satisfactory condition.
The August 3rd explosion destroyed the home and 86-year-old Robert Young, injuring him and his grandson, 38-year-old Paul Young. Paul Young has been upgraded from guarded to satisfactory condition. His Grandfather, Robert Young, is still in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Officials say the two men were working on plumbing in the basement of Robert Young's home at 48 Wilson Street. The men were installing a water heater which led to a natural gas leak. The force of the blast completely destroyed the house and damaged several houses in the area.
