Elmira Police Investigate Shooting

ELMIRA (WENY) -- Elmira police are investigating a shooting that happened early Monday morning.

Officers were called to the scene at 923 Lake Street, after a 911 call about a person with a gunshot wound. Police say 36 year old David Holmes claims he was shot in the leg. He was taken to Arnot Ogden Medical Center with a non-life threatening wound.

Police say Holmes is allegedly cooperating, and the shooting does not appear to be a random incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tipline, 271-HALT.
