ERWIN, NY (WENY)---New York State police are investigating a string of burglaries that happened this weekend in Erwin.

Police say someone broke into vehicles in the Aurene housing development off Robert Dann Drive in Erwin overnight Saturday. The thief or thieves stole cash from the cars. The perpetrators also stole cash from homes--gaining access through unlocked doors.

Neighbors are urged to not leave valuables of any kind in parked vehicles, and to keep vehicle and residential doors locked at all times. Anyone with information is asked to call state police 962-3282. All calls will be kept confidential.
