Fitness in the Parks Program
CORNING (WENY) -- A local health agency is making sure kids get exercise and physical activity during the summer months. The Steuben Rural Health Network is hosting Fitness in the Park programs for the next nine weeks.
Each Friday between 3:30 and 4:30, kids ages 2 to 12 can come to Corning's Riverview Park for a fun, physical activity. The goal of the program is to encourage active, outdoor play while school is out of session.
"When they're not in school they don't have the physical education everyday so it's important to get them out and get them moving," says Hannah Murray with the Steuben Rural Health Network.
The programs are free, but organizers ask all caregivers to stay at the park in case of emergencies.
