ITHACA, NY (WENY)---While Police were investigating a reported assault in Ithaca's homeless encampment, they found two people stranded in the Cayuga inlet underneath a railroad bridge.

A man was found holding onto a 42-year old Ithaca woman. Police say the woman was drunk and fell into the inlet.

Ithaca police are not naming the victims.
