ALBANY (WENY) -- Nearly a year after two tropical storms walloped parts of New York state, we're getting a look at the price tag.
Governor Andrew Cuomo's office released a report this week showing storms Irene and Lee caused a billion and a half dollars in damage. According to the report, the storms were the most largest and most expensive natural disaster in the state, with recovery costs only second to the 9/11 terror attacks.
Thirty-eight of the state's 62 counties were impacted, including Chemung, Tioga, and Broome counties here in the Southern Tier.
