Jackals Fans Come Out
Fans gathered to show their support for the team and the players while arena bankruptcy litigation continues in Rochester.

Elmira (WENY) - This afternoon a few Elmira hockey fans down near First Arena. They were gathering to show their support for the team and the players while arena bankruptcy litigation continues in Rochester. Only a handful of fans showed up for the rally, but their message was loud and clear; they want nothing more than to see the Jackals take the ice in First Arena this winter. Nine year old fan Katari Starkweather says she came out tonight for no other reason then to show how much she loves their team, and want them to stick around.
“Because they're probably the closest thing that we have and they are really good,” says Starkweather
She really hopes she can watch them play this year.
“I'm hoping the Jackals do come back to try and get back in the ECAHL hockey league championship to try and get the trophy again.”
Right now the team is scheduled to hit the ice Saturday for training camp, with a new coach at the helm. But Litigation between the owners of the team, the Afrs, and the owners of the arena might put that in jeopardy, But Janet Jennings has a message for the people in charge.
“We've been loyal season ticket holders for years, we want hockey, we want ECHL hockey we love it, we enjoy it, we support it, and please guys Grow up. Graduate from high school, get together don't fight like teenagers your grown me. settle it give Elmira something they love and need.”
The next bankruptcy hearing is tomorrow up in Rochester. The Jackals first scrimmage is next Thursday.
