Judge Dismisses First Arena Lawsuit Against County

ELMIRA (WENY) -- State supreme court Judge Judith O'Shea dismissed the suit filed by Elmira Downtown Arena, LLC against Chemung County over the foreclosure of First Arena.

That's according to Chemung County Executive, Tom Santulli. The Afr family, who managed the Arena, claimed the county broke the law by not allowing the company to buy back the Arena the after the county foreclosed on it in February. The Afrs paid the $136,000 in back taxes, but the county legislature ruled not to accept the money until it completed an investigation into the Arena's management.
