Palmesano Backs ’Lauren’s Law’

CORNING (WENY)---Assemblyman Phil Palmesano announced Tuesday the passage of 'Lauren's Law'

Under the measure, all driver's license applications would need to include organ donor information.

Palmesano says the bill will increase organ donor enrollments throughout New York and save thousands of lives.

In 2009- New York ranked last in the country for the number of new donors.

Lauren's law is named after Lauren Shields.  A 12-year-old from Rockland County who received a heart transplant in 2009.
