Lemonade For A Cause
Horseheads (WENY) -- Two young, local girls are giving back to their community. Seven-year-old Abby Flatt and eight-year-old Madison Adams set up a lemonade stand today in their Horseheads neighborhood.
Sure, lots of kids do this for fun over the summer, but these two friends are donating money from their sales to the Red Cross. Their parents helped them with the sign and spreading the word, but the idea was theirs.
"We thought that if we made a lemonade stand it would kind of be a fun thing for us to do, and we're also raising money for the Red Cross," said Adams.
The girls plan on setting up another lemonade stand at their church's Winter Fantasy event later this fall.
