Williamsport Man Charged with Stalking Bradford Co. Women
ATHENS, PA (WENY) -- A Williamsport man is in jail, accused of stalking a Bradford County teenager and two other women.
Thirty-six year Aaron Strayer is charged with stalking and trespassing on school grounds. According to court documents, Strayer followed a 17 year old girl driving into the Athens high school parking lot.. He then allegedly approached her, and started asking questions. The girl reported Strayer to school officials. School security video also caught Strayer's truck on school property on a prior day.
Strayer is also accused of following two other women driving around Bradford County. One of the women reports Strayer approached her at least two other times, once at the Bradford Town Centre, and another at time at a gas station, before allegedly following her from a tanning salon in Wysox to Greens Landing. She then reports seeing Strayer's truck in the parking lot of Tops Market when she went there.
The third woman reported to police Strayer followed her in the Athens area. According to the affadavit, the woman reported Strayer was pulled ahead of her on the highway, slowed his rate of speed and wouldn't let her pass. When she attempted to pass, he would speed up and stay side-by-side with her vehicle.
Strayer is now in the Bradford County jail on 50-thousand dollars bail. Court documents show he was arrested in 2004 on trespassing/peeping tom charges. He admitted to Athens police that he followed the teenage girl into the Athens parking lot, and to approaching another woman, but denied following her.
According to police, all three of the women had dirty blonde hair, a slender build and visited local tanning salons. It's believed Strayer may have been conducting surveillence at the tanning salons the women had visited.
