Today we honor those who have served our country and many twin tiers communities are hosting parades and ceremonies.

- The city of Elmira's Memorial Day parade starts at 9:30 this morning. The parade begins at Park Place and ends at Woodlawn National Cemetary. There will be a service at Woodlawn Cemetary at 11.

- In Elmira Heights the American Legion Post 154 is hosting a Memorial day observance at the post on Scottwood Avenue at 11 this morning.

- The Bath VA Medical Center's annual Memorial Day parade is at 1 PM. More than 14,000 flags placed will be placed by the fifth-graders at Dana Lyons Elementary School in memory of our fallen soldiers.

- The Horseheads Memorial Day parade starts at 2 PM at Horseheads High School and ends at the Horseheads American Legion.

- The Bentley-Trumble Post 442 of the American Legion on Old Ithaca Road will hold an open house on Memorial Day.

- The Watkins Glen parade begins with a service at the Naval Memorial at the head of Seneca Lake at 10:30 a.m.There will be at a service in front of the schuyler county courthouse at 11.

- The Corning Parade begins at 5 PM at Riverside Ave.
