New Southport Guthrie Clinic Underway
Southport (WENY) -- Construction officially started on a new Guthrie clinic in Southport today, on the corner of Cedar Street and Clemens Center Parkway.
Guthrie staff and local leaders at today's groundbreaking ceremony say the 13,000 square foot facility will replace the current office in Pine City. Construction is expected to take eight to nine months and cost $4 million. This location will focus on primary care with 24 exam rooms, newer technologies and better parking.
"The continued access to primary care services in the neighborhood is really important to us," said Guthrie Health CEO Joseph Scopelliti. "As I said in my other comments, we're a big organization, but we want to act small. We want to provide that care as local as we can."
Guthrie officials expect the new clinic to start taking patients next May.
