Fire Breaks out at Pine City House

PINE CITY (WENY)---Two Pine City residents are without a home after a fire tore through the basement.

Six fire departments responded to 73 Bartholemew Road in Pine City just before 2 this morning.

Webb Mills Fire Chief, Jason Halm, tells WENY-TV news, the fire started in the basement of the home.

Two fire crews were able to get the basement fire under control in about ten minutes but the basement is completely destroyed.

The second story of the house sustained heat and smoke damage. The chief declared the house uninhabitable.

Two people were living in the house at the time, but no one is injured. Chief Halm says the Red Cross will be assisting the residents.

A firefighter on scene was being treated by a paramedic.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
