Sayre (WENY) - Today volunteers were finishing up on a house damaged by last year's flooding in Bradford County. Nearly 60 volunteers from as far away as Ohio were staying in Sayre this week, helping with the rebuilding effort. The valley relief council organizes events like this to help flood victims get back on their feet. The council reviews applications for work and then assigns volunteers to specific houses and tasks to make the construction go faster. This week the group worked on 8 houses in the Athens and Sayre. The organization works on 100 percent donations.
“We are local people this is our neighbor hood this is our neighbors and we are helping put our neighbors homes back together and such we are helping our neighbors rebuild their lives after the devastation of last years flood,” says Lucinda Brown from the Valley Relief Council.
If you would like to donate or help the Valley Relief Council send money to 110 North Higgins ave. Sayre PA. Or call Lucinda Brown at 607-731-9595.
