Robert Storms Sentenced in Doug Hubbard Death
ELMIRA, NY (WENY)-- The Elmira man who admitted killing a man then keeping the body hidden for three years was sentenced to prison today.
Robert Storms will spend the next ten years in state prison, followed by five years post release supervision. As we reported, Storms pleaded guilty in July to manslaughter for the 2009 death of Doug Hubbard of Elmira, who was reported missing a few days after the killing. Storms admitted to hitting Hubbard in the head with a frying pan, and hiding the body.
As part of a plea deal with the District Attorney's office, Storms agreed to lead police to Hubbard's body. Hubbard's remains were recovered buried in a field off Hibbard Road in Catlin.
