Schumer Pushes FEMA for Wellsburg FD Aid

Wellsburg Fire Dept. FEMA Aid

WELLSBURG, NY (WENY) -- A year after last September's floods nearly wiped out the Wellsburg fire station, they're still waiting on funds from FEMA to move the building outside the flood zone.
The agency approved funding to rebuild the fire station three months ago, and Senator Chuck Schumer is calling on FEMA to fast-track the money. He says the delay threatens the safety of Wellsburg's residents and first responders.
The fire station flooded six times in the past 100 years.
