Interstate Renamed in Memory of Sgt. Devin Snyder
WAYLAND, NY (WENY) -- Governor Andrew Cuomo has given final approval to rename part of a Southern Tier interstate after Sergeant Devin Snyder.
Cuomo signed legislation to designate Interstate 390 in Steuben County as the "Sergeant Devin Snyder Memorial Highway." The interstate will bear her name from Exit 2 in Cohocton, to Exit 3 in Wayland. Sergeant Snyder died last June in an IED attack in Afghanistan.
Cohocoton Town Supervisor Jack Zigenfus says the northbound lane of interstate runs past Sergeant Snyder's gravesite.
