Small Breed Dogs Up For Adoption
Tompkins County (WENY) -- Twenty Chihuahua and small mixed breed dogs were rescued from an almost certain death, and are now available for adoption at the Tompkins County SPCA.
The dogs came from municipal shelters in Los Angeles where they were scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space.
The SPCA got a call from Best Friends Animal Society, and spent several weeks figuring out how to make room the dogs.
"They all came spayed, neutered, medically evaluated, micro chipped and all that good stuff," said SPCA Executive Director, Jim Bouderau. "So we're just in the final process of finally evaluating them one last time, getting them acclimated to the new environment, and they'll be up for adoption as quickly as possible."
The dogs are $200 each and will be available during a special adoption event this weekend.
