Second Suspect in Randy Brooks Murder Speaks Out

ELMIRA (WENY)--- There are new developments in the July 5th murder of Randy 'BD' Brooks.

Our media partner, The Star Gazette reports, a second man is now charged and he says Brooks robbed another man when he was gunned down. Jordan Ross, 19, of Elmira is charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

This, after he told Police he was with Brooks the night of the murder, when Brooks allegedly robbed another man outside of Elmira's Eastgate apartments.

Ross said he fled the scene and Brooks was gunned down. He remains in the Chemung County Jail on 25,000 dollars bail.

The second man charged is Jerell Rollins, 20, also of Elmira. Police say Rollins shot and killed Brooks and he's now charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and making a false written statement.

He's scheduled to be back in court on October first.
