CORNING (WENY) -- A Corning man is accused of stealing bronze markers for veterans' graves, and selling them as scrap metal.
State Police charged 27 year old Giacamo Tallarida with Petit Larceny. Tallarida is accused of stealing seven bronze Veterans Memorial Markers from Houghey Funeral Home in Corning, and selling them to Swarthout's Recycling for scrap. Police say Swarthout's helped with the investigation, and all seven markers were returned to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Tallarida was issued an appearance ticket.
