United Way Campaign Kickoff
Corning (WENY) -- Thousands of people turned out in Corning tonight to celebrate the United Way's Birthday Bash. For 125 years, the non-profit organization has been giving back nationwide. United Way of the Southern Tier is the largest non-government funder of health and human services in Steuben and Chemung counties. This third annual event featured live music, food and fun for the kids, all in an effort to kick off their campaign. The organization is looking to raise close to $5 million.
"Tonight is really about announcing the campaign goal and drawing attention to the start of the campaign," said United Way President, Ron Hatch. "It's really about having fun and getting kids and families out at the end of the fall."
