Hornell Hero's Story Becomes Play
HORNELL, NY (WENY)---The story of a local hero is hitting a big stage and the small screen.
Lance Corporal Zach Smith of Hornell was killed in action back in 2010. He was just 19-years old. The Hornell community came together to remember the brave marine and they're still grieving the loss.
Now family friend, Gloria Gambino, is telling Zach's story on stage at the Fringe Festival in Rochester. The 21-year old senior at Nazareth College has turned the story of Zach and how Hornell grieved his death into a stage play.
