Captain Phillips Movie Hits Theaters

WASHINGTON, DC (WENY) -- Tom Hanks is back on the big screen; This time, he plays a real-life character -- Captain Richard Phillips.
      Navy SEALS rescued Phillips in 2009, after he was held captive by Somali pirates.
      WENY Washington Correspondent Ted Fioraliso scored one of the first interviews with Phillips here in Elmira, shortly after he returned home. He shares some of that interview, as well as the controversy surrounding Phillips' actions.
       Phillips will return to Elmira College as a guest lecturer on November 7th. The public can listen to Phillips speak at 11:30AM at Speidel Gymasium in Emerson Hall. Tickets are free for students, educators and senior citizens; $5 for all other members of the community.
