Flu Season Begins
December 20, 2013
SOUTHERN TIER (WENY) -- Look out for those holiday colds, flu season has officially started. It also means new regulations are kicking in.
The New York State Department of Health requires all health care workers in the state, who haven't got a flu vaccination, to wear masks.
This is meant to protect patients from getting the flu from their healthcare workers. The mask requirement remains in effect until the Commissioner declares influenza no longer prevalent in New York State.
