Twin Tiers (WENY) - Tension in Washington continues as the government shutdown enters its 14th day. A group of veterans calling themselves the Million Vet March took matters into their own hands, reopening - at least for a moment - the Lincoln Memorial.
Then, they marched the barricades more than a mile over to the gates of the White House where they clashed with police. Other national monuments across the country re-opened, thanks to state and local governments. Among them, the Grand Canyon and the State of Liberty.
At the Capitol, there's still no deal. Republicans have given up demands to defund or change Obamacare, but Democrats are pushing for an end to most of the spending cuts from the sequester.
