Man Rescued Out of Waneta Lake
TYRONE (WENY) -- Fire crews rescued a man who fell through the ice at Waneta Lake, near the town of Tyrone.
Tyrone Assistant Fire Chief Matt Maloney says the man was riding his motorcycle on the ice when it cracked and he fell through.
Ice water rescue teams from Tyrone, Dundee, Wayne and Hammondsport arrived on scene and found the man treading water.
Boats were used to rescue the man who spent about an hour in the freezing water.
He was suffering injuries related to the cold water and was life-flighted to a local hospital.
His condition is unknown at this time.
The motorcycle sank to the bottom of Waneta Lake.
