3 Arrested in Horseheads Gun Store Burglary


HORSEHEADS (WENY) -- After an almost nine month investigation, the Horseheads Police Department arrested three individuals, on July 11, 2014, in connection with the October break in and theft of 49 handguns from Scott’s Guns located at 306 Watkins Road in the Village of Horseheads. 
    
     The individuals arrested are as follows:

     ZACHARY Z. SMITH, age 26, of West Church Street in Elmira, New York, was charged with BURGLARY IN THE THIRD DEGREE and GRAND LARCENY IN THE THIRD DEGREE. SMITH was arraigned in Horseheads Village Court and was remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $50,000 bail.

     DOUGLAS J. CHURCH, age 22, of Franklin Street in Elmira, New York, was charged with BURGLARY IN THE THIRD DEGREE and GRAND LARCENY IN THE THIRD DEGREE. CHURCH was arraigned in Horseheads Village Court and was remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $5,000 bail.

    BRIANNA M. LOWE, age 19, of West Church Street in Elmira, New York, was charged with CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY IN THE THIRD DEGREE. LOWE was arraigned in Horseheads Village Court and was remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $2,000 bail.
