Addison School District Budget

ADDISON - [WENY]     The Addison Central School District budget for the 2014-2015 school year failed last week by only 9 votes. On Tuesday night, the board adopted a revised budget.
The revised budget reduces the tax levy by an additional $36K from the failed budget. Under the revised budget, all current educational programs would be preserved.
Now if voters reject the revised budget at the next vote, the district would have to go straight to a contingency budget.
The contingency budget would reduce the tax levy by more than $100K from the revised budget. But, the district would be forced by law to not purchase any new equipment, and be forced to charge for facility use.
The Addison Central School District will hold a hearing on the revised budget on June 4th, with the budget going to a public vote on June 17th.
