ADDISON (WENY) -- It was a big day for the Addison School District as voters decided if schools would get the attention they need. District Leaders say Tuscarora Elementary School and Addison High school are in need of some major improvements and The Capital Project aims to get them done.
Addisson Superintendent Joe DioGuardi said," A lot of our kids are practicing on fields that aren't really fields, they're make shift fields, some of our modified soccer kids practice in the outfield." However, new athletic facilities aren't the only thing kids can look forward to if the project passes. Plans would also includes adding a 2-story wing onto the Addison High School, allowing middle schoolers to finally study under one roof. Best of all, Superintendent Joe DioGuardi says it won't cost tax payers a dime as he spoke of combining local reserve monies with state aid reimbursement to get the job done at no additional cost to the tax payer.
DioGuardi added, "We're excited about many of the changes. We feel that they're very necessary."
