PAINTED POST (WENY) A motivational speaker is teaching young adults it's easy to get ahead in the work force through simple tasks, like a smile and a handshake.
“If I have a goal and I hit it, just keep going up. Don't stop just keep going,” is what Demetrius Slover learned from todays Spring into the Future event.
The event is hosted by the Chemung- Schuyler- Steuben Workforce New York and is designed to teach young professionals what skills are needed in the workforce. Local non-profits and businesses worked one on one with the youth to help them prepare to be job ready.
“So what we hope they get here is not only that they understand like I said not only what the employers are looking for but hopefully our motivational speaker gives them an incentive and motivation to make those efforts to try and make those extra steps to go out an be successful,” says Chuck Peacock from CSS Workforce NY.
This years keynote speaker was Arel Moodie, who's ranked one of America's Top young motivational speakers. He started his first internet company in college and now shares his message of success across the county.
“If you take the simple mindset, I'm gunna do what most people wont, so I can have what most people don't. What does that mean. that means saying I'm gunna be the best in this position and that doesn't matter if it's a menial job it doesn't matter if it's a big job whatever it is. I'm going to be the best that's ever done this ever,” explains Moodie.
