ELMIRA -- (WENY) One suspect is in custody after yesterday's armed robbery in Southport.
Police confirm 52-year-old Sloman Knox is in jail; however, his accomplice, 33-year-old Robert Rouille is still at large.
The Sheriff warns Robert Rouille is armed and dangerous. Sloman Knox's family members tell us he went to the Sheriff's office last night for questioning and turned himself in.
Police say he was arrested without incident at 10:00 last night. He remains in the Chemung County Jail without bail and is charged with attempted robbery.
This isn't either suspect's first brush with the law. Knox served 14 years for criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Rouille was convicted of manslaughter as a 14-year-old. He was originally charged with murder in the Elmira East-side stabbing death of 18-year-old Hugh Brown. He got out of prison in 2008.
Police say Rule and Knox left the scene in a silver Saturn Ion.
Anyone with information should call the sheriffs office at 607-737-2987 or call 911.
Again, investigators say Rouille is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
