Arrest Made for Elmira Hit-and-Run
Police say the victim was seriously hurt but an arrest has been made.

ELMIRA (WENY) -- A victim was serioussly hurt after a hit and run accident on Monday but police now have a suspect in custody.
22-year-old Brian Irvin of Elmira has been charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular assault, and leaving the scene of a serious injury accident.
Officers say the victim was hit by a car near the intersection of North Main Street and West Second Street around 7:45 P.M. Monday evening. That's right near the Weis Supermarket. Irvin sped away but was later caught by Elmira Police.
Police arrested the suspect on Pine and Chester streets. The pedestrian was treated on-scene then taken to the hospital. As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, the pedestrian was listed in critical condition.
