Arrests Made in Horseheads Car Thefts

Car Theft Arrests
Horseheads (WENY) -- The Chemung County Sheriff's Office made three arrests today involving the recent flurry of vehicle larcenies in the Town and Village of Horseheads within the past month.

Seventeen year olds John Meiser of Horseheads and Kyle Spencer of Big Flats were arrested along with 18-year-old Horseheads resident Ernest Parker.

The Sheriff's Investigators arrested the three individuals for Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and found a small amount of cash as well as other items with the teenagers. They were arraigned in Horseheads Town Court.

"This morning road patrol deputies arrested two individuals in the criminal investigation division and went out and picked up an additional individual in reference to these break-ins," said Sheriff Chris Moss. "They were subsequently charged this afternoon and arraigned in the town court."

Sheriff Moss wouldn't confirm if these arrests are related to the vehicle thefts in Erin. The three individuals will be remanded to the Chemung County Jail if they cannot post $2,000 cash bail.
