      BIG FLATS---(WENY-HD) Someone has been stealing and destroying political campaign yard signs in Big Flats. Deputy Town Supervisor Ed Fairbrother who is running for Town Supervisor, had some of his signs destroyed. Someone also stole magnetic signs off of his car, costing him $200.00.Dozens of signs for several other candidates have been destroyed or stolen as well. It is not clear whether these are random or targeted acts of mischief. According to the Chemung County District Attorney's office, anyone caught destroying a political sign will be charged with criminal mischief, and could face up to 1 year jail and or $1,000.00 fine.
