C-PP Approves Sale of Frank Pierce

CORNING, NY (WENY) -- Corning-Painted Post school district board members approved the sale of the former Frank Pierce elementary school Wednesday evening.
As we've reported, the Corning-Painted Post school district is looking to sell some of its vacant buildings as part of its ongoing facilities plan.Tonight, the board accepted a purchase offer from CareFirst hospice care of $580,000 dollars. That's $65,000 dollars over the appraised value of the property.
The sale now needs voter approval - it will appear as a ballot proposition when voters decide on a school budget in May. The building is currently being used by ProAction as a HeadStart facility.
